The man’s next-door neighbor’s Ring camera captured video of the Friday morning incident in the 5500-block of Ann Marie Lane in Oak Forest, which shows the man shooting three people. Neighbors said one person fled the scene. The man can then be seen going back inside the house and barricading himself in. Shortly afterwards a huge fire broke out. The Cook County Coroner confirmed they are responding to four deaths at the home....

Drivers in West Kelowna are being advised of a pair of road closures next week. Crews are set to begin work on installing water lines on Menu Road, connecting to the new Rose Valley Water Treatment Plant. Beginning Monday, October 17, an alternating single lane traffic pattern will be in effect from 1247 Menu Road to Ourtoland Road on weekdays from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Pedestrian access will be maintained throughout construction and bicyclists are encouraged to dismount from the construction zone....

The homeownership rate in Canada is declining, with young adults in particular less likely to own a home in 2021 than in 2011, Statistics Canada reports. According to the latest census, two-thirds of Canadians owned a home in 2021, up from a peak of 69 per cent a decade earlier.
