While most of these additions have received a lot of praise from iPhone fans, Apple’s implementation of Always-On Display on the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max has left some users unhappy. That’s because the Always-On Display feature on the latest iPhones only shows a darker version of the standard lock screen and looks nothing like the simpler Always-On Display UI you might have seen on Android smartphones. However, as 9to5Mac reports, there is a way you can get a simpler Always-On Display interface on the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, but it involves a rather awkward workaround. The post reveals that you can get a black and white Always-On Display interface on iPhone 14 Pro models by enabling the Dim Lock screen focus mode setting. You can try it on your iPhone 14 Pro by going to Settings > Focus > [select focus mode] > Options, then tap the toggle next to Dim Lock Screen. Your phone will now display a simpler Always-On Display user interface with a black background, date and time in white font, and any widgets you may have selected. As you might expect, there are some downsides to using this solution to get a simpler Always-On Display user interface. First, you should keep the focus mode on all the time if you want the black and white UI permanently. If that’s not annoying enough already, the Dim Lock Screen setting will also dim the lock screen wallpaper when your phone is on. Additionally, you’ll have to endure the focus mode label at the bottom of the lock screen all the time. If you can live with these issues, then you should definitely give this solution a shot. This case offers three different color options to choose from, in addition to a minimalist, slim build.
