It’s the kind of unusual that Shyamalan likes to sink his teeth into, emphasizing clichéd statements that will suddenly (if not subtly) come across as convenient lies by the end of the film. I, a total moron who found the Old delightfully entertaining to watch regardless of its pitfalls, will absolutely love Knock at the Cabin. Still, Knock at the Door is based on Paul Tremblay’s The Cabin at the End of the World, so Shyamalan has some solid starting points to lay the groundwork for his thrillers.
