According to police, the 41-year-old man was shot in the lower abdomen along South 20th Street near Sansom Street shortly after 7 p.m. The man, who appeared to be intoxicated, was walking south in the drive-thru lane on 20th Street when he began arguing with two men in a car traveling north, Philadelphia police Capt. John Walker said. The argument escalated, Walker said, and the man walked up to the car and began punching through the open window. A person in the car then fired at least one shot, striking him in the lower abdomen, Walker said. The police rushed him to the hospital where he was found in critical condition and underwent surgery. SkyForce10 overhead showed crime scene tape marking 20th Street between Shake Shack and a construction site. Walker said the car took off after the shooting. They are asking the men involved to come forward. No arrests have been made, police said.
