(File photo.) An Avondale parolee is facing multiple charges after he called police, told them he was driving while impaired and challenged them to come find him. Police initially received the call from 25-year-old Jesse Lewis shortly after 1:30 a.m. Monday. Shortly thereafter, police received two separate reports of vehicle thefts from homes in Georgetown and Cupids. Shortly after 5 a.m., police received a report from a Conception Harbor resident who claimed Lewis went to his home and made threats while holding a sawn-off weapon. Twenty minutes later Lewis was spotted in town operating a stolen vehicle and showing signs of impairment. He was arrested and a blood sample was taken, the results of which will determine whether impaired driving charges will be laid. Lewis was on parole at the time following convictions from a 2017 crime spree that spanned from Conception Bay Center to St. John’s and involved a carjacking. Lewis’ parole was revoked and he was charged with two counts of auto theft, two counts of menacing and assault with a weapon. He remains in custody and will appear in court on September 28.
