As we mentioned yesterday, NVIDIA tends to leave out some specs when they reveal new cards. So we ended up finding out the exact die size of the AD102 via a PNY website. While the RTX 40 series specs certainly weren’t a surprise, it’s good to see confirmation of unreleased graphics card specs. GeForce RTX 4090: AD102-300 GeForce RTX 4080 16 GB: AD103-300 GeForce RTX 4080 12GB: AD104-400
This means that NVIDIA is indeed releasing three different GPUs within a few weeks, but it’s also a little surprising that Ada’s smallest GPU (AD104) isn’t part of the 4070 series. Instead, the company launched two RTX 4080 models with very different specs, which is a bit confusing. It looks like the highest clocked RTX 4080 so far is from GALAX, reportedly at 2685 MHz. Other companies are less reluctant to confirm the watches yet. Source: GALAX via Wccftech
