-ONE Larger font Increase the font size of the article A+ The complainant in the sexual-assault trial of the Army officer who led the federal government’s COVID-19 vaccine campaign says her perpetrator in an alleged 1988 assault was, “without a doubt,” Maj. Danny Fortin. During the emotional conclusion of her testimony in a Gatineau, Que., courtroom Tuesday morning, the complainant pushed back after Fortin’s defense attorney pointed out discrepancies between her testimony in court versus the accounts given to a investigator last year. The complainant, whose identity is under a publication ban, said she has “nightmares” and a “recurring vision” of the attack, and while she can’t be 100 percent sure of some of the details 34 years later, she is ironic about the identity of her perpetrator.
