MSNBC guest Francesca Fiorentini suggested Sunday night that America should let illegal immigrants into the country because the only other option is “death.”
MSNBC host Ayman Mohyeldin spoke on a panel about how Republican governors are sending illegal immigrants to areas populated by wealthy liberal elites.
Fiorentini criticized Republicans, but went on to say that both parties have been too tough on illegal immigrants in recent years.
“But the reality is that border brutality has been a bipartisan consensus, unfortunately,” he claimed. “And Democrats have been pulled to the right by Republicans, further militarizing the border, giving CBP [Customs and Border Patrol] even more money. This is one of the largest federal agencies that is insanely militarized, right? He has crazy jurisdiction.”

The comedian suggested that the Democratic Party should be more sympathetic to the waves of people trying to cross America’s southern border.
“And so I’m looking for a vision from the Democrats to actually, not just dehumanize immigrants — which is exactly the lowest bar? But really, how can we be better than the drug gangs that these people are running from?” he said.
After saying that many immigrants come from Venezuela, he recalled waves of immigration from other troubled nations.
“Just a few months ago, you had Haitian immigrants being chased on horseback. And yet, Ukrainian immigrants, refugees, have been accepted into this country — as they should be,” Fiorentini claimed.

He put the complex political problem in simplistic terms.
“And the answer is this: It’s either death or accepting people into this country. There are only two options here. And I’m going to let people into this country rather than let them die,” he said.
The host, instead of pushing back, seemed to agree.
