Two hours before the 11am service, all the public viewing areas along the procession route were full. The huge public gathering began after Westminster Hall closed for mourners on Monday morning, with hundreds of thousands of people lining up in front of her flag-draped coffin to pay their respects. Many waited in line for hours, including through cold nights, to attend the lay-in-state in an outpouring of collective grief and respect.
