Manchester United are preparing a proposal for Benfica striker Goncalo Ramos. The 21-year-old has scored eight goals in 12 games for the Portuguese side so far this season, alerting United officials who are chasing a striker. According to the Sun, United will not pay more than Benfica’s £25m valuation for Ramos, but have already made contact with the striker’s representatives. Ramos has eight goals so far this season and scored twice in a 5-0 win over Benfica this weekend. A Portuguese U21 international, Ramos has scored 20 goals in a total of 59 games for Benfica. He is set for a move to a major European league soon, having continued his good form this year after scoring against Liverpool in last season’s Champions League quarter-final in support of Reds summer signing Darwin Nunez. Meanwhile, United will be hoping they can build on a good run of form after the international break, having won four games in a row – including wins against Liverpool and Arsenal – following back-to-back defeats at the start of the season.
