A Russian capsule carried an American astronaut into space today, marking a remarkable continuation of Russia-US cooperation in space at a time of great geopolitical tension. The spacecraft lifted off from the famed Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan, carrying NASA astronaut Frank Rubio and two Russian cosmonauts – Dmitri Petelin and Sergey Prokopyev – on a six-month stay aboard the International Space Station.
